Ryan Lee (Alistair MacDougall)
Ryan Lee was a recurring character in H&A in 1991 and 1992. He is best known for his persistence in trying to win the heart of his ex-girlfriend Lucinda Croft. Ryan was played by Alistair MacDougall.
Backstory[]
Ryan grew up in Perth and was close friends with David Croft. He also dated David's sister Lucinda, though they had broken up before Lou came to Summer Bay.
1991-1992[]
Ryan arrived in Summer Bay the day after David Croft's death in a car accident. It quickly became clear that he was still in love with Lucinda. He wasted no time in undermining her relationship with Nick Parrish, which was going through a rough patch at the time. He managed to split them up and got engaged to Lucinda. His attempts to whisk Lucinda away from Summer Bay fell at the last hurdle. They were in a taxi on their way to the airport when she saw signposts Nick had placed along the road, declaring his love for her.
The love triangle that kept on going and going and going...
Nick and Lucinda got engaged after this but that wasn't the last anybody saw of Ryan. He returned to town a few months later and got a job working as a mechanic at the Norfolk Boat Shed. He became good friends with Sophie Simpson who was dealing with being a teenage mother. He hadn't returned to the area to enjoy the surf and the sunshine though - he still believed that Lucinda would come to her senses and realise that her future lay with him, not Nick. Lucinda and David's mother Mary, who had known Ryan for years, advised him to give up on his pursuit of her daughter. Lucinda was torn because she loved both Ryan and Nick, but couldn't make up her mind which one she should be with. He and Lucinda began an affair behind Nick's back but it wasn't long before her uncle Donald Fisher figured out what was going on. Donald's loyalties lay with Nick Things unravelled after that and Lucinda decided that she definitely wanted Nick, not him. Disappointed, Ryan decided to leave the area and move on with his life.
