Matt as Damian Roberts (1992)

Matt Doran is an Australian actor who was born on 30th March 1976 in Sydney[1]. He played Damian Roberts on and off from 1991-1996. His character was fostered by Michael and Pippa Ross in 1992 and was a son of H&A stalwart Irene Roberts. He is also well known for his role as Mouse in the cult film [Matrix (1999)].

Pre Home And Away career[]

He graduated from the Australian Film and TV Academy[2] and made an early appearance on the TV movie Pirates Island (1991). Interestingly, the cast of this film included Home and Away regulars Cornelia Frances (Morag Bellingham) and Les Hill (Blake Dean)

Home And Away 1991-1995, 1996[]

Matt made his Home and Away debut in November 1991, appearing in a single episode as Damian. He reprised the role in April 1992 and went on to appear in more than 400 episodes over the next 4 years. The character of Damian became one of the show's most familiar faces in the early 1990s, known especially for his friendship with Shane Parrish (played by the late Dieter Brummer). Matt left the role in 1995 to pursue other acting projects, though he made guest appearances until 1996.

After Home and Away, Matt had guest parts in Australian TV shows such as GP, Water Rats, Stingers, Farscape, Murder Call and All Saints. In 2001, he appeared in all 26 episodes of Love Is a Four-Letter Word and in 7 episodes of Always Greener (2001). In 1999, he played Mouse in The Matrix and dipped into another otherworldly franchise when he played Elan Sleazebaggano in Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002). Back on planet earth, he was cast in Terence Malick's The Thin Red Line (1998). More recently, he has had roles in Redfern Now, Rake, Total Control and Doctor Doctor.

In 2020 he played the lead role in the thriller Intersection.[3]Although he mostly has appeared in Australian film and TV productions, he has also popped up on American productions.
