Maggie Astoni
Marguerite "Maggie" Astoni (née Walford) was a series regular 2017 and 2020. She was played by Kestie Morassi.
Backstory[]
Maggie grew up in an affluent family and didn't impress her mother Diana when she fell for local bad boy Ben Astoni. They went on to have two daughters - Ziggy, and Coco. She trained as a teacher and moved to Summer Bay to take up the position of school principal.

The Astoni Family
The Astonis settled in The Farmhouse. Maggie helped her daughter Coco overcome an eating disorder. Some months later, Ben surprised her with a ceremony to renew their marriage vows. Her mother Diana, who'd never liked Ben, tried to interfere. Eventually she was won over which meant a lot to Maggie.
It was revealed that Maggie had been attacked and knocked out during a break-in at her previous school. The trauma of that came back to haunt her after Raffy Morrison threw a brick through the school window and snuck around the corridors while she was there. Shortly afterwards, she got a flat tyre on the road and Mick Jennings helped her out. He cut his hand so she brought him back to her house to bandage it up. When Ziggy saw him there and told her that he was a rapist, she freaked out. This brought her PTSD to the fore and she dealt with it.
In 2018 Maggie developed lymphoma and this became an ongoing storyline. She eventually underwent stem-cell treatment and went into remission.
In March 2020 her brother-in-law Marco came to Summer Bay. It was revealed that she had had a one-night-stand with him many years before. This led to her splitting up with Ben. They eventually reconciled and decided to move to Italy to make a fresh start.

It was noted at the time that the Astoni family was the first new nuclear family to appear on Home and Away since the Sutherlands in 2000.
