Synopsis[]
Lucinda tells Donald about her and Nick going parachuting later on. She knows Nick is terrified but is trying to hide it. She feels it'll do him some good to try something exciting.
Karen is a bit bored and at a loose end for the day. Sophie will be gone on her shopping trip to the city with Margaret. She remarks that she'd love to have a boyfriend to keep her amused. She makes her way to the Surf Club where Blake and Adam are hanging out. Blake goes away, leaving just Karen and Adam in there. Adam doesn't have a lot else to do that day either so he agrees to give Karen a pool lesson. It soon becomes obvious that Karen is enjoying the attention. When they go to the diner later on, Ailsa can't help but notice how Karen is behaving towards Adam. He seems to be oblivious to it though.
Michael thanks Sophie for being sensitive to Pippa's feelings over what happened with Tracey. He is happy to see that she is back to her old self again. He doesn't think he and Pippa will be fostering someone else any time soon.
A flight instructor gives Nick and Lucinda a run-through of what will happen during their parachute jump. Despite being given the option of backing out by Lucinda earlier, he is now determined to go through with it.
Margaret and Sophie enjoy their day's shopping in the city. Margaret buys a new outfit for Sophie and reminisces about her daughter Kelly. When they get back to the diner in Summer Bay, Margaret drops a bombshell. She has resigned from her teaching post in the local school and will be leaving for good the next day. She has never really settled in Summer Bay and has decided to take up a friend's offer of a job.
Karen asks for a surfing lesson from Adam and she enjoys it. When Alf and Ailsa get home, they find Karen and Adam in the kitchen helping themselves to enormous sandwiches. Alf isn't happy at having a dropkick like Adam hanging around. Ailsa isn't too pleased either but reminds him of what happened when she was going out with Revhead.
Nick and Lucinda go up in the aeroplane, ready to do their parachute jump. Nick does his without any problems and enjoys the experience. Lucinda can't go through with it.
