Synopsis[]
Alf reacts to Blake's confession in a surprising way.
Blake and Karen laugh about the drama with Fisher at the Sands Resort. Still, he is a bit concerned about what Alf will do when he finds out. Karen advises him to just own up. Blake thinks it would be better to butter him up first. That takes the form of Blake thinking they should all do something to celebrate Alf and Ailsa's upcoming 3rd wedding anniversary. He also offers to help Alf do a stocktake at his store.
Sam is due to start school the next day and Bobby notices that he isn't enthusiastic about it at all. He seems to be concerned that the other kids won't like him. He is also complaining about feeling sick, though as Alf points out, that's the oldest trick in the book. Every kid has tried that one
Alf doesn't fall for Blake's over-helpfulness either and asks what has he been up to? When Blake tells him about Fisher and the escort, he dissolves into laughter and says he'll leave it to Donald to punish him. He mentions that if he helps beat Yabbie Creek in the swimming relay, it might improve Donald's mood.
Mark tells Blake, Karen and Sophie that his folks are moving to Yabbie Creek. That means he will be switching to Yabbie Creek High and he can't swim for the Summer Bay relay team any more. Sophie tries to convince Haydn to rejoin the team but he refuses point blank. Matt encourages him to reconsider - it's being part of a team that counts and nobody will laugh at him for giving it a go.
Blake and Karen still want to do something for Alf and Ailsa's anniversary, despite Blake's confession. Taking up a suggestion of Sophie's that they go camping, they tell both Alf and Ailsa. It turns out neither of them want to go camping at all but they don't have the heart to tell the kids. Later on, it turns out Blake and Karen aren't keen about going camping either but don't want to disappoint Alf and Ailsa.
Bobby has a talk with Sam about going to school and then goes upstairs to get some things ready. Sam picks up his school things and dumps them in the undergrowth outside.
