Synopsis[]
I've heard of candlelight suppers but this is ridiculous.
Bobby brings Sam over to the Fletcher's so he can look through Sally's old toys. Pippa asks her is he asking about his mum? He will be meeting her tomorrow and Bobby keeps reminding herself that having Sam is temporary. Just before she leaves for work, Michael calls in to see Pippa. She asks them have they set a date for their wedding yet?
They laugh about Bobby's non-too-subtle hint but take out a calendar anyway. Pippa thinks they should consult the kids first and says she would like to keep the tradition of family meetings going. Asking everyone turns out to be a good idea because the dates they had in mind didn't suit everybody. They finally settle on a date a bit sooner than they'd bargained for - 3 weeks from now.
Donald and Bobby discuss tomorrow's meeting with Sam's mother, Jackie. She hasn't told Sam about it. Don urges her to not make things more difficult for Sam and to keep an open mind about Sam's mother Jackie. When she puts Sam to bed, she finally tells him that he will be seeing his mother tomorrow. Sam is worried and asks will his mother be taking him away again?
Adam and Matt break into the Boatshed. Adam's has a plan which he feels will land him that mechanic's hob he wants. He will repair a clapped out boat engine that Michael took in earlier. This ends up going on for much longer than he had planned so Matt falls asleep. The next morning, they take the engine out for a test run - Michael doesn't start work until 8 so that gives them just over an hour.
Sam is not a happy boy the next morning. As well as wetting the bed, he acts out at breakfast. Annoyed with him, Bobby sends him to his room. She is surprised when she gets a call a while later from Pippa, letting her know Sam is in her house.
Michael and Haydn come down to the Boatshed earlier than usual and naturally, notice that it has been broken into. What doesn't make sense is that an old boat and a clapped out engine have vanished but a brand new motor is still there. Matt and Adam return to shore in the old boat, powered by the newly repaired engine. Michael tells Nick he won't press charges but is still adamant he will not be giving Adam a job.
Bobby chats to Pippa and thinks he is scared his mother won't want him back. Pippa wonders is it the opposite? Just because he keeps asking about his mother doesn't mean he wants to see her.
In the Diner, an annoyed Adam tells Matt that even if Michael offered him the job now, he wouldn't take it. He changes his tune almost immediately when Michael comes looking for him. He offers him the job on a trial basis.
Bobby asks Sam to be honest with her. Although they have to go see his mum, she wants to know does he want to see her or not. He shakes his head. He doesn't want to go with his mum - he wants to stay with her and Nick and Marilyn. He asks her to tell him he doesn't have to go.
