Synopsis[]
Donald returns to the school in his damaged car and tells Grant about the punishment he has meted out to Blake. Grant isn't too happy about it. Alf sets Blake to work in his store. Karen is shocked and upset by what happened and can't believe that Mitch dobbed her brother in. Grant feels guilty too but he just couldn't cover for Blake any more.
Pippa calls into the Diner and Bobby tells her that she is expecting a baby boy. She asks Pippa if it's OK if she names him Tom. Tom was her first real dad and she wants to be able to show her son photos of the best man she ever met. Pippa is delighted but sad. Tom would have been very proud.
Grant has a word with Karen and gives her photocopies of the notes he was going to be using for class this week. He is concerned that being suspended will set Blake back. He asks her why does Blake take things so far? It's almost as if he's trying to get himself punished. Blake has no interest in the notes and is furious at Mitch. Alf and Grant both agree that there is something eating Blake. Karen seems to know something too but isn't letting on.
Marilyn has worked herself into a tizzy over tomorrow's history exam and can't understand why Steven is more interested in relaxing than doing last minute cramming. He admits he is a bit hazy about Russian history but isn't interested in trying to learn it at this stage. Marilyn eventually manages to make him join her in a Russian history cramming session with her in the Beach House. They oversleep the next morning and very nearly miss their exam. One of the questions on the paper is about Russian history - they smile at each other, delighted.
Pippa calls into Alf's store and says that this morning was the first time she had woken up and not expected to find Tom beside her. She thinks it started yesterday when Bobby said she wanted to call her baby Tom. It has made her remember what his life meant, not his death and what they'd all lost. When Pippa leaves, Alf starts to chat to Blake about their conversation and how people react to a loved one's death. Blake gets angry and tells Alf to shut up.
