Synopsis[]
Men and their machines
Pippa and Carly are annoyed at Ben because he not only turned down Michael's job offer but was so rude to him too. Ben says he can't bring himself to work for somebody he doesn't respect.
A livid Matt is still trapped in the bathroom in the Beach House and is having no luck trying to jimmy the lock. Finally, Adam and Marilyn come home. Adam being Adam, Marilyn is the one left to let Matt out. When he finally makes it into work, late, he has to explain himself to a furious Ailsa. This is a turning point for Matt - later on he tells Adam and Marilyn that he wants to move out and will be gone as soon as he finds somewhere else to live.
Carly and Ben talk things over and it turns into an argument. Still, it doesn't stop Carly calling to see Michael the next day at the boatshed. She apologises for Ben's behaviour and asks him if he would consider holding the job open for a few days while she talks to him? Michael agrees to it, and to her request not to mention to Ben that she had paid a visit.
Bobby has now fully embraced being pregnant after having a wobble earlier. Now she is getting excited about it, thanks largely to Grant. She is due to have an ultrasound in the morning and debates with Ailsa and Pippa whether she should find out the baby's gender.
Ben calms down after a great breakfast and a walk with Carly. He calls to collect his payslip and toolbox at the boatshed and falls into conversation with Michael. They clear up their misunderstanding. Then, Ben offers to take a look at a crocked boat engine Michael has started working on - he remembers it from before and thinks he knows what is wrong with it. He repairs it and Michael offers him a job. It all seems to be going well until Michael accidentally lets slip that Carly had been to see him. When Ben gets home, he tells Carly that because o her interference, she has made it impossible for him to work with Michael Ross again. And maybe she has made it impossible for him to trust her again.
