Biography[]
Angus Stewart was born in Scotland in about 1830 and became a sailor. He emigrated to Australia in 1852 on his ship and discovered a peninsula of land in May 1852 and decided to settle there. All his crew members were seasick. He named the area Summer Bay. It was Summer at that time back in the UK but winter time in Australia. Angus Stewart married and had a son Duncan Stewart Snr born in about 1870.
Angus had died by the time his son was killed in action in WW1 [1]
