Brodie Hanson
Brodie Hanson was a main character in Home and Away from July 2000 (Episode 2879) to November 2002 (Episode 3404). She made some guest appearances in 2004, last appearing in Episode 3675. Brodie was played by Susie Rugg.

Backstory[]
Brodie and her older brother JT were raised by their mother Jan. Jan could be quite unpleasant but life was made worse when her boyfriend Gary came along. JT was no better, preferring to solve his problems with his fists. In 2000 Brodie had enough and fled her home.
2000-2002[]
Brodie (2001)
Brodie arrived in Summer Bay and was quickly taken under the wing of Shelley Sutherland who was working at the Sarah McKay drop-in centre. Her mother Jan came and tried to make her come home. Brodie refused and Jan turned violent. She quickly retreated when Sally Fletcher threatened to call the police. Brodie moved into Summer Bay House and was fostered by Shelley and her husband Rhys. She quickly formed a sisterly bond with Dani Sutherland. Brodie fell for Mitch McColl, much to the annoyance of his ex-girlfriend, Hayley Smith.
Later in 2001, Brodie's brother JT came to see her. During his short stay in town he burgled Colleen Smart's mobile home and hit Hayley after she turned down his advances. He quickly left town, having narrowly escaped being punched by Hayley's furious brother Will.
Brodie befriended fellow student Hamish "Woody" Woodford who is an outsider. He misinterpreted her friendship as something more and tried to kiss her. When she rejected him, he accused her of leading him on. Things went from bad to worse for Woody. After the audience at the school's talent night didn't appreciate his free association poetry and the tale of shooting a dog dead, he unravelled. He took a classroom of students hostage at gunpoint. He was later subdued and arrested. Brodie later reconciled with Mitch but he soon departed for New Zealand to live with his late mother's relatives.
Brodie was knocked off her bike by the newly arrived Alex Poulos when she collided with his car. She had to undergo surgery and while she was recovering, her mother Jan came back. She claimed she had changed her ways and had dumped her horrible boyfriend Gary. Brodie briefly considered moving back in with her mother but after she flirted with Rhys and admitted she was going to get back with Gary, Brodie decided to stay put.
Brodie and Alex become a couple despite the knocking off the bicycle thing but he ended the relationship when he felt things were getting too serious. Shortly afterwards, Alex's friend Miles Alcott came to visit. Brodie and Miles began to date, which made Alex jealous. Later in the year, Alex was bringing Brodie and Miles home from the school formal when his car hit a pothole. Miles died at the scene of the crash and Brodie blamed Alex for it. She continued to be hostile towards him, even after the inquest cleared him. Shelley urged her to forgive him and eventually she did.
Brodie then had a short-lived relationship with Mav Patterson before getting back with Alex. However, she had decided she wanted to go travelling after finishing school so they split up.
2004[]
Brodie returned in early 2004 to find Alex was now dating Hayley. The two girls went to war over Alex and this escalated into a huge car crash. Brodie sustained minor injuries but Hayley suffered with memory loss and disfigurement. While Hayley was recovering, Brodie and Alex rekindled things and got engaged. They left town shortly afterwards and married abroad. When Alex came back to Summer Bay in 2007 he revealed that he and Brodie had broken up.
